This will be the seventh annual South Island Champs

The format this year will be a little different and will be based on a divisional format, i.e. paddlers will be put into divisions of similar ability rather than traditional age/gender racing. This will make for some close, competitive and fun racing.

Events on offer:

  • K1 200, 500, 1000, 5km
  • Mixed K2 200
  • Mixed K4 200
  • A variety of relays (based on entries received)

Accommodation

Accommodation at the Rowing Centre on Lake Ruataniwha is limited and South Island clubs will be given priority for paddlers, coaches and assigned helpers. Other accommodation is available in Twizel and can be booked independently.  At level 2 covid restrictions will mean a limit of 50 in the accommodation.   At level 1 this will be relaxed.

Meals

All meals will be provided for those accommodated at the Rowing Centre on Saturday and Sunday, ending with lunch on Sunday.

*Others not accommodated at the Rowing Centre but wishing to join in on lunch or dinner must book in with Karen no later than a week before the event!  Costs are $18 for lunch and $30 for dinner per person.
