Event Athletes

Masters K2  Garth Spencer and Vaughan Reed

NZ is allowed up to 2 entries in each division for the Marathon World Champs, and up to 5 entries available at Ocean Ski Worlds for U18, U23 and Open men’s and women’s divisions (as well as unlimited entries for the masters’ events). Any paddlers who would like to compete in either event are welcome to express interest by emailing tom.ashley@canoeracing.org.nz.

The CRNZ Distance Paddling Committee has set an objective that NZ sends full teams to compete at the Ocean Ski and Marathon World Champs within the next several years. We would like to promote all areas of our sport and acknowledge that distance paddling represents the majority of our participation base. We hope that the increased interest generated through initiatives such as the Darcy Price Series will translate into greater numbers competing, and also more opportunities/pathways for kiwi paddlers to participate and succeed internationally.
