Congratulations to Dame Lisa Carrington and her coach Gordon Walker who were recognised for their exploits in Tokyo at the Halberg Awards.
Lisa won Sportswoman of the Year while Gordon took home the gong for Coach of the Year. To top off the evening, Lisa was presented the main honour of the night, the Supreme Halberg Award. This was second time she has earned this accolade, after receiving it in 2016.
Lisa won 3 gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics, bringing her total to 5 golds and 1 bronze, making her the most successful kiwi Olympian ever.
Amazing effort by these two, as well as all their teammates, colleagues, support crews, friends and families who allowed them to reach such heights. Both Lisa and Gordy have confirmed their commitment to another Olympic cycle, so we look forward to seeing what the next few years has in store.
