It was 5K day for the Kiwi paddlers at the ICF Junior and U23 Sprint Canoe World Champs in Hungary.
Team New Zealand had four athletes on the water for the K1 5000m – Julia Padrutt, Daniel Brown, Sophia Lawson and Damien da Silva (Men Junior).
It was Padrutt, who got the day underway in style clinching a top-10 finish in the Women U23 Final.
Brown (Men U23), Lawson (Women Junior) and da Silva (Men Junior) closed out a busy regatta for the 14 Kiwi athletes, placing 26th, 21st and 25th respectively.
The team will return home with valuable international experience and wonderful memories from their European excursion.
