The Kayak Krazy 10km Winter series is made up club-run paddling races around New Zealand to keep all paddlers active and connected over the winter months. Set goals and enjoy a change of scenery by joining a race somewhere different.

The third race in the 2023 series is kicking off on Saturday 12th August in Maraekakaho Hawkes Bay, hosted by the Hawkes Bay Kayak Racing Club on Glazebrooks Lake.  The 10km course will include portages, so get those running legs ready!

Open to K1, multicraft boats (skis, multisport boats, recreational craft), and Waka Ama. 

Age groups/distances/categories will be:

    • 12&Under –  2km                                                              Entry Fee $10
    • 14&U, 16&U  6km                                                             Entry Fee $10
    • Waka ama (all ages) – 6km                                          Entry Fee $10
    • 18&U, Open, Masters – 10km  (with portages)  Entry Fee $20

Race Day Schedule (at Glazebrooks Lake):
10.45am- Registration
11:45.am Race Briefing
12:00pm  – Race starts
Prizegiving will be held as soon as possible following the race (approx 2 pm)

Getting to Glazebrooks Lake–  Address is 3005 Maraekakaho road,  200m past Highway 50 turn off, through the Vineyard.

To be part of the Kayak Krazy 10km Winter series, you need to compete in 2 races, plus the 10km Champs at Rotorua in September.
