Waitemata Canoe & Multisport Club in Auckland are proud to host the 2023 Canoe Marathon National Champs on the 20th & 21st May 2023.
Open to Kayaks, Multisport boats and skis, marathon paddling is the biggest challenge in the sport. Can you go the distance?
Individual races will be on Saturday and the team boats will race on Sunday. Distances will vary from 5km to 29km depending on age/division and in most cases will include a portage off the water onto land then back onto the water.
The course is located on the Henderson Creek and will consist of a 4km lap. Paddlers will portage off the pontoon and up the jetty then back down into the water off the boat ramp.

K1/K2 U23 Men -26km
K1/K2 Junior men (U19)- 23km
K1/K2 Masters Men (35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54) – 23km
K1/K2 Masters Men (55-59,)- 19km
K1 Masters Men (60-64, 65-69, 70+)- 15km, K2
Multisport/Ski Men – 23km (no portage)
K1/K2 Open Women- 26km
K1/K2 U23 Women- 23km
K1 Junior Women (U19)- 19km
K1 Masters women (35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54) – 19km
K1 Masters women (55-59,60-64, 65-69, 70+) – 15km
C1 Women – 19km
Multisport/Ski women – 15km (no portage)
K1 Para (all age groups)- 12km
Recreational class- 12km
