Canoe Racing New Zealand would like to congratulate the following paddlers who have been selected to represent NZ at the 2023 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships:

- Samuel Newlands – Open MK1
- Liam Lace – U23 MK1
- Emma Kemp – U23 WK1
- Briana Trewern – U18 WK1
- Deva Bennett – U18WK1
- Liam Neal – U18WK1
This selection was made following their results at the recent NZ Canoe Marathon National Champs in Auckland.
The World Championships are in Vejen, Denmark on 31st August- 3rd September.
The sport of canoe marathon is a true test of a paddlers tactics, endurance and athleticism. Similar to a running marathon, it is a long distance, endurance event- standard races can be up to 30km on a flatwater course, with regular portages where the paddler must carry the kayak.
