World Championships Excitement is Building

Since the successful World Cup tour in Hungary, our athletes have been training in various environments across the globe, but most will join forces today in Pusiano, Italy. Then the team will come together for 3 weeks in the final pre-World Championships preparation camp in Bordeaux, France.

Nathan Luce, General Manager of Performance is on the ground in Europe with the team for the build up and comments, “Our athletes are diligently preparing for this year’s Olympic and Paralympic qualifying World Championships and aren’t leaving anything to chance. Europe’s summer temperatures have been soaring lately which should serve as the ideal environment to meet the challenge of qualification.”

“I’m excited to see our team compete at their very best once the regatta kicks off in 5 weeks. This is one of our strongest all-around teams that we have fielded in recent history. Our athletes have been motivated since the completion of the World Cup in Szeged, remaining humble and not letting past results affect their determination to improve and set the bar higher in August.”

Stay tuned for updates on our paddle to Paris – soon we will be sharing details about what the Kiwi’s need to achieve at the ICF Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe World Championships from 23-27 August in Duisburg, Germany to qualify boats for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

All the best for the final build up.
