This is a leg of the 10km Series hosted by clubs around the country. Race just for fun or join in on two races plus the champs to be eligible for a series win.

Held at clubs around the country, this series has races for all ages and abilities. You can track your points and progress against other paddlers. 

Each race accumulates points per below. To be eligible to win the SERIES you must race TWO races PLUS the Champs (Double points for the Champs).  All paddlers who attend the Champs are eligible for spot prizes but you must have completed two series races plus the champs to be eligible for the series win. 

Distances to be confirmed on the day but will be approximately:
2.5km  Tyros (12 and under)
5km     U14, U16 
10km   U18, Open, Masters, Ski, Multisport & K2
*Note: Masters divisions will be split into 35-44, 45-54, 55+ if there are sufficient entries for each age group (2 or more)

Briefing:  11.00am
Race Start: 11.20am

Due to Covid-19 the following conditions of entry are mandatory:

  • Entries MUST be made prior using the online entry system for clubs or for individuals and supporters submitting the entry form to the club by the due date.  No on-the-day entries will be accepted.  Spectators/supporters should also register
  • Paddlers payments can be made on the day. 
  • All attendees will be required to sign in and provide a phone number for contact tracing purposes.

NZCT New Zealand Canoe Sprint Championships

The pinnacle of the canoe sprint domestic season, the NZCT New Zealand Canoe Sprint Championships will be held at Lake Karapiro and is open to all age groups.

Proudly supported by NZ Community Trust and the Waipa District Council, the Canoe Sprint National Championships will be held over three full days of racing at Lake Karapiro.  Distances will include 200m, 500m, 1000m (depending on age group) and 5km and age groups from Tyros (U12) right through to Masters. 

Please note, Team Managers meeting Thursday 8.00pm in the HP Training Centre Community Room, Lake Karapiro.

The first of our national sprint regattas kicks off on the last weekend of the October school holidays.

This is the first of the Blue Lake regattas held at Lake Tikitapu in Rotorua.  This regatta has a fun development focus with a divisional format for K1 races where competitors will be seeded into divisions based on two seeding races for each gender.  

Team boats will be raced in age groups as usual.  There are a few fun team boat races which provide a lot of hilarity.

This event is run by Welly Paddlers and this year is counted as a leg of the 10km Series. Race just for fun or join in on two races plus the champs to be eligible for a series win.

The Foxton Loop Race is a long-standing event that is currently being run by Welly Paddlers and this year is included in the 10km series. The distances are a little different and the course is really cool and a lot of fun.  

Each Kayak Krazy race accumulates points per below. To be eligible to win the SERIES you must race TWO races PLUS the Champs (Double points for the Champs).  All paddlers who attend the Champs are eligible for spot prizes but you must have completed two series races plus the champs to be eligible for the series win.

12.30 am All W6's and surf canoes
12.32 am All Kayaks surf skis and W1's
12.45 am short courses (3 km & 6 km)

There will be 3 distance options :

12 km (Long course) - head north out the wide section of the loop, turn left once you've reached the Manawatu River, paddle approx 1.25 km then turn anti clock wise (from right to left) around the first island then back to the finish.
6 km - short course head south - 2 x laps back up the skinny section of the loop
3 km - short course head south - 1 x lap back up the skinny section of the loop
