World Marathon Championships set to get underway

Already this week we have seen three Kiwi’s in action at the World Marathon Masters Championships with Marshall Hollister Jones, Kim Harker and Karen Hopkinson Pflug all competing with distinction in Brandenburg, Germany. 

It is now the turn of our young guns who will kick off their Worlds Campaign later this evening New Zealand time. First up will be Rochelle Austin and Sarah Lockwood who will compete in the Junior Woman’s K1 event – 19 km. Tomorrow will see Quaid Thompson and Jordan McLarin in action competing in the Junior Men’s K1 event – 22.6km. On Sunday Quaid will team up with Zac Ferkins for the Junior Men’s K2 event – 22.6km. 

Rochelle, Quaid and Zac are all backing up from the recent Junior Sprint World Championships. The team have had a positive lead into the event having been based in Czech for the last few weeks. Follow the team in action through the official website – with live results and live streaming.
