Perfect weekend for South Island Champs

SI 1.jpg

It really was a perfect weekend down in Twizel, surrounded by the alps and without a breath of wind, for the 60 competitors who entered the South Island Canoe Sprint Championship.  This was also the South Island Schools Champs and so there was some really competitive racing going on with prizes for top Primary, Secondary and Uni on the line.

Full results can be viewed HERE and photos have been added to our Facebook Page.

After some pretty close results throughout the weekend top CLUB honours went to Arawa Canoe Club and schools awards were as follows:

Primary Challenge Cup:  Our Lady of the Assumption

Secondary Schools Leask Cup:  St Andrews College

Southern Uni Kayak Challenge Shield: Lincoln University

Top Novice School: Burnside
