Junior World Champs training camp

Team update sent 28th June:

After a leaving New Zealand at 5:30pm Thursday and arriving in Budapest, 30hrs later the team was pretty knackered. Our accommodation is awesome and it looks like we will have plenty of fun for the next three weeks. There is a swimming pool, sauna, spa pool, world class gym, pool table and table tennis. The lads have already had a very serious table tennis competition, at which Kurtis is the reigning champion, for now……….

The river is absolutely superb! The water feels really light compared to back home and it has been ‘glass paddling’ every session so far. It’s also been twenty degrees for training. Lets just say the Christchurch paddlers are happy about the temperature and Wellington isn’t complaining about the lack of wind!

Paul safely drove the team’s boats from Czech Republic to Hungary. The boats are awesome and are being paddled super fast! Hopefully we get hold of a few more K1s for the team soon.

Thanks to everyone for all the messages of support.   The team is in great spirits and really excited for the next few weeks ahead!
