Imrie wins dream trip for parents

Our womens K4 paddler Kayla Imrie has given her parents the ultimate thank-you for their support - winning them a free trip to Brazil to cheer her on at the Olympic Games in August.   Kayla entered the NZ Olympic Committee competition sponsored by Volkswagen NZ to win a trip to Rio.  It was her sincere message of thanks that earned the prize.

"The road into the elite sport of kayaking isn't the easiest of roads to take and these two amazing people have helped me a lot along the way," Imrie said in her message.

We agree!  James and Lynn are stalwart supporters of the sport and help out at club level as well as in volunteer officiating capacities at national regattas.  A big congratulations to you both.  It couldn't happen to nicer people!   If you want to see the surprise moment click HERE
