CRNZ Development Coach

CRNZ is seeking a coach to join our world-class coaching team.

We have recently restructured our performance program. As part of this restructure, we are merging our men’s and women’s programs under the leadership of the CRNZ Technical Director. We aim to build a coaching team with a shared vision and approach to performance in kayaking.

The relative weighting between these three purposes may vary depending on the experience of the successful applicant, and from time to time according to need. In practice, this will involve the following:
•Learning through immersion in the HP environment and targeted study, as directed by the Technical Director, coaching team and HPSNZ coaching advisors;
•Supporting athletes at the CRNZ High Performance Centre in Cambridge, as well as running camps and workshops around NZ and supporting NZ Junior and Development teams overseas;
•Supporting athletes and coaches in the CRNZ performance pathway to develop and monitor individual performance plans according to CRNZ performance principles;
•Working with the CRNZ coaching team to deliver world-class training at the CRNZ performance hub in Cambridge.

The key responsibilities of the Development Coach will be:
• Program – In collaboration with the CRNZ Performance Development Manager help to create a world-class kayaking development program in NZ;

• Environment – Help create an environment in which athletes can work towards world-class performance;
• Teamwork – Work as part of an effective and unified CRNZ team; and
