Winter Wonderland
For a boy from Windy Wellington this snowy landscape found on the banks of the Avon River in Christchurch was something to behold, and quite simply irresistible. With University closed, havoc on the roads, and getting anywhere was taking your life in your hands... what else was one to do...????
So Simon Trotter decided to head out on the water (as you do in freezing temperatures) and have a wee paddle. With no-one keen to venture out with him, he took this photo on the self-timer of his camera. He reports that it was a lovely day for a paddle, calm and serene ... if you don't count the council workers yelling how crazy he was, and the kids building snow men along the riverbank laughing at him. Simon lasted about 40 minutes before he had to admit it was a tad too chilly to keep paddling.
Great effort Simon!
We'd love to see any other interesting paddling photos. If you have some send them to Karen with the story behind them.
