Blue Lake 2 Regatta

This weekend will see kayak sprint paddlers from around New Zealand converge on Lake Tikitapu (Blue Lake) in Rotorua for the second national kayak sprint regatta of the season. 

The field is very full with competitors of all ages geared up for some exciting racing.    Of particular interest will be the Open Mens and Womens races, with the National Squad set to show some very fast times, along with a number of other outstanding up-and-coming athletes in the junior categories.

A new 200m course which runs parallel to the beach will mean some spectacular viewing of races for spectators, who usually only get to see things from the finish line end.  This will give a great view of the whole race as athletes power along the foreshore.
