Coach Development Programme
CRNZ recognizes the importance that coaches and coaching will play in meeting its strategic objectives of 'growing the sport' and 'developing world class athletes' as outlined in the Whole of Sport Development Framework.
To be able to achieve this CRNZ has identified that it needs to develop a world class coaching programme and resources to support coaches to develop the skills to deliver that athletes needs across all communities within the sport.
This programme will provide a wide range of learning opportunities that allow coaches to identify and access personal development that corresponds with the athletes they are coaching and their specific developmental needs.
The CRNZ Coach Development Programme encompasses two aspects:
- The Coach Development Modules
- The Coach On-going Development Programme
The Coach Development Modules provide coaches with the formal training and accreditation new and existing coaches need. The Coach Development Modules will be administered and delivered by the CRNZ Sport Development Co-ordinator. A CRNZ appointed Coach facilitator or Senior Club Coach will carry out the delivery of formal training of trainee coaches.
The Coach Ongoing Development Programme keeps existing coaches up to date via ongoing training and development. Coaches continue to improve themselves and their knowledge of the sport by keeping up to date with the latest rules and sport innovations. The CRNZ Sport Development Co-ordinator administers the programme. For more information click here to download the Coach Development Programme.
