Introduction to Safety Net

Welcome to Canoe Racing NZ’s Safety Net Pack. This is Part B of the ‘Have a Go’ Coach Development Module.

The following information introduces a code of ethics for coaches and basic safety concepts for coaching. They will help you:

  • Identify key elements of your role and your responsibilities to your athletes’ safety
  • Provide a safe environment for your athletes
  • Identify and apply key strategies for your own protection (and those in your management team).

As you go through this, think about how these concepts relate back to canoeing, your athletes and yourself.

This module will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Before you begin, please check the Navigation Guide.
