It was a superb ending to an excellent World Cup campaign for the New Zealand women's team.  After four gold medals at the first World Cup the team went on to claim another three in Germany.

The first medal of the trifecta was the K2 500 of Caitlin Ryan and Lisa Carrington.  The pair dominated this race the length of the field finishing a full boat length and a half ahead of the French team of Manon Hostens and Sarah Guyot (who has trained in New Zealand with the team in the recent past).

The following day Carrington took to the K2 again, this time with Aimee Fisher in the 200m.  Again the pair showed strong form in this firecracker of a race, finishing 0.7 seconds ahead of the Poles, Karolina Markiewics and Helen Wisniewska.

They didn't have much of a breather though as 50 minutes later they were racing in the K4 with Ryan and Rebecca Cole, the latter justifiably stoked at the win - her first World Cup triumph with the team.

Coach Gordon Walker has been working on different team boat combinations throughout this campaign and is giving his young up-comers some much needed international experience, not to mention the invaluable time on the water up against this top level competition.  Britney Ford, Danielle Watson, Kim Thompson and Rebecca Cole have been soaking up the lessons this season and have been seeing some good gains in the process.

There's plenty more to be seen from this outstanding team.  They now go into "World Champs" mode as they prepare for the event in Portugal in August.
