High Performance Tyro (Under 13yrs) K1 styled on the Nelo Cinco. Lightweight composite construction in immaculate condition.

We have for sale our daughters ‘Havel’ TK1 racing kayak.

A TK1 is a ‘Tyro’ K1, specifically used for Under 13 year old paddlers. Tyro K1’s are limited to 4.2 meters, not the 5.2 meters of traditional K1 race kayaks.

The boat is narrower than traditional ‘Tyro’ K1’s and has a sleek profile similar to the full sized Nelo Cinco. It is built from lightweight composites and has a cleverly designed footplate and pull-bar.

The kayak was near new when we bought it last February and is still in immaculate condition. We added an (expensive) custom-made decal styled on the Maori ‘Puhoro’ design, a symbol for power and speed.

Its previous user paddled the kayak to a number of national titles in 2017 and our daughter used it to similar effect at the Blue Lakes 2 regatta in December 2017.  She will use it for the CRNZ National Sprint regatta in late Feb this year, after-which it will be up for sale as she is moving up to full-sized K1’s.

This is a lightweight and extremely competitive kayak for the Under 13 paddler who has the skill to master it and ambition to win. It will also make the transition from Tyro to K1 kayaks easier is it requires a similar level of skill.

We are listing the kayak early to advise potential buyers who will most likely come from kayaking circles, however the boat will not actually be available until after the conclusion of the CRNZ Sprint Nationals at Karapiro  on the weekend of 23-25 Feb.

I can assist with packaging for shipping, or the boat can be uplifted after the Nationals at Karapiro.
