High Performance Director

Canoe Racing New Zealand has an enviable history of Olympic success in sprint kayaking and anticipates strong performance in future Olympic Games and World Championships. Our focus on continued success in the international arena, means we are looking for an experienced High Performance Director to join our organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead a talented High Performance team, that is made up with some of the world’s best High Performance coaches.

You will be able to use your previous experience of building High Performance programmes to establish a world class daily training environment to consistently perform on the world stage over a sustained period of time.

Key to your success in the role will be:

-Ability to create, develop and lead a centralised High Performance programme.
- Ability to build a strong High Performance culture and align all stakeholders.
- An understanding and empathy of the “Kiwi culture” and how to bring the best out of our athletes, coaches and other HP staff.
- Experience developing, implementing and monitoring strategic and operational plans.

While this role is currently located in Auckland, it is planned to shift to Cambridge in the medium to longer term. As such, an adaptable disposition and previous experience leading staff and stakeholders through change will be advantageous.

In return we offer the opportunity to work with world class athletes, the opportunity for personal and professional development, plus an internationally competitive remuneration package. Relocation support may be provided.
