2017 New Zealand World Cup Crew Boat Announcement

Congratulations to the following athletes who have been selected to represent New Zealand in crew boats at the 2017 World Cups in May 2017.

·    Aimee Fisher

·    Catlin Ryan

·    Kayla Imrie

·    Kim Thompson

·    Rebecca Cole

·    Briar McLeely

A decision has been made to not select a men’s team for this year’s World Cup, rather the focus is to close the gap and ensure our men can achieve an A Final in the future.

A strategy has been developed in consultation with the men which will see 2017 used as a training year and CRNZ will invest available resources into their daily training environment and potential training camp overseas.

Selection for K1 Boats will be confirmed post the 2017 New Zealand Sprint Kayak Championships.

On behalf of the Canoe Racing we wish the athletes selected above all the very best.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact either Greg Owen – CRNZ High Performance Director on greg.owen@canoeracing.org.nz or mark.weatherall@canoeracing.org.nz  or on (021) 132 4519.
