Today Ian Ferguson owns and operates Ferg's Kayaks, a canoeing and outdoor pursuits bsuienss with stores in Auckland and Wellington. These outlets sell canoeing equipment, run adventure trips and provide instruction for canoeing beginners and elite paddlers. Ian is active in the Canoe Racing New Zealand coaching programme as National Coach.
Ian was awarded a New Zealand Civic Honour – O.B.E.
Alan Thompson

Alan Thompson has been a CRNZ Board Member and Sprint Racing Director of the organisation since his retirement from Canoeing in 1996. As well as being a High Performance coach, he is a founding member of CRNZ. Currently Alan serves on the High Performance Advisory Committee.
Alan operates his own business on the East Coast of New Zealand in the hospitality industry where he is hugely respected as one of his regions outstanding sportsmen.
Grant Bramwell

Grant Bramwell is no longer active in canoeing.
He is a chemist and owns and runs a family pharmacy in Gisborne.
John MacDonald

- New Zealand Champion 1994 -1996
John MacDonald retired from Canoeing in 1996 and works
as a Design Engineer in the plumbing industry.
He is currently Convenor of Selectors for CRNZ.
Paul MacDonald

Paul MacDonald retired from Canoeing in 1996.
He is currently Marketing Director of one of New
Zealand’s major sporting apparel companies.
Paul, like Ian also has a New Zealand Civic Honour O.B.E
Ben Fouhy

- Multiple New Zealand Champion in Sprint and Marathon
- New Zealand Sportsman of the Year 2003
- Recipient of the New Zealand order of Merit
